BAXTER, ON – After a number of weeks away from on-track competition, Super Stock standout Ryan Semple will be back in action this Sunday as Sauble Speedway plays host to Round 4 of the upstart Great Lakes Concrete Super Stock Series.
“We’re ready to blow the dust off this team this weekend and get back to work,” says Semple with a grin. “This car’s been strong all season. We’ve had some great runs earlier this year but we’ve invested the last month into making our flat-track package even better. I think we’re going to unload on Sunday with the car to beat.”
While other teams on the Great Lakes Series roster are well into the double-digits in terms of total races this year, Semple’s Auto Trim of Barrie-backed outfit remains committed to their selective pick-and-choose schedule.
“This is the part of the season where it pays off not to be a part of that weekly grind,” offers ‘Kid Ruckus’. “We’re going to roll into Sauble after almost a month off – and these other guys have been racing every Saturday for weeks. Our equipment is fresh, our team is fresh – we’re in a better spot mentally than we would have been if we’d been racing full time for three months.”
The Baxter, ON-based racer will look to build on a number of strong performances he’s already registered this season, including a pair of strong runs during Great Lakes Concrete Series action at Sauble.
“There’s a lot of guys on this roster that are so good at what they do,” says Semple. “It makes every night a complete war. We have a good chance of making a statement this weekend and I’m ecstatic about that.”
“The car that we have was real neutral the last time we had it out,” continues the multi-time Sunset Speedway feature winner. “If we can bring that back with us on Sunday we’re going to be in a good spot. To get to the front and stay there in 50-laps you’re going to need a car that can maneuver and get through traffic. We’ve had that before and I know we’re going to have that on Sunday.”
