ORILLIA, ON – After his pilgrimage to be part of the 2018 edition of Fairgrounds Speedway’s lauded All American weekend was stymied due to rain-out not once but twice, Ontario standout Taylor Holdaway will have his second chance for a first impression when he returns to Nashville on November 2nd and 3rd.
“It doesn’t matter where you’ve won or run up front at – when you roll into a spot like Nashville for an event like the All American it’s a whole different experience,” notes Holdaway. “This is one of the biggest events in North America. It just carries a different type of prestige.”
“Nashville is the type of speedway that you respect as soon as you roll in the gates,” continues the two-time Sunset Speedway Ltd. Late Model champion. “There’s a lot of history there and it’s a place that’s really tough to win at. I was proud of the speed we had there last year but I know that we can unload even better this time around.”
Holdaway’s Pro Late Model program has been gaining steam throughout his limited appearances in 2019, and their Holdaway Automotive-backed effort sees Fairgrounds Speedway’s marquee event as the perfect stage to showcase their abilities.
“The big picture for us is to go to the All American and prove that we can run up front anywhere with this team,” explains Holdaway. “The goal for our team, no matter what we’re racing or where, has been to build a program that can contend anywhere”
“It takes a special kind of strategy to succeed in a race like this,” continues the Orillia, ON native. “I’m looking forward to the challenge. There are a ton of hours invested in this car to make sure that it’s ready when it comes off the trailer. We’re putting everything we have into standing out from the rest of these teams at the All American.”
The 100-lap Pro Late Model race will serve as the weekend’s co-main alongside the 400-lap Super Late Model Crown Jewel that is sure to draw the attention of the entire Short Track world.
“I stay awake at night thinking about what it would be like to win an event like this,” Voiced Holdaway. “It’s all I can think of while we get this car ready. We feel like we have the potential to go down to Nashville and really show what we’re capable of. We have a ton of confidence going into this race.”
“There’s no doubt that we don’t have the budget that a lot of these other guys are working with but I know that we’re ready to put the work in to try and overcome that. We’re excited as hell. This event is going to attract some of the top Pro Late (Model) teams in North America and we can’t wait to do whatever we can to beat them.”
