ALCONA BEACH, ON – Super Stock up-and-comer Coltin Everingham has confirmed his family-run operation will take advantage of a break in Sunset Speedway competition to make his second appearance of the 2017 Sauble Speedway season this Saturday.
“This team carries a belief that we can run up front anywhere,” shrugs Everingham with unabashed confidence. “We were at Sauble two weeks ago and we showed everyone there that we’re a threat to win. We have a better idea of what we need for a setup that’ll make us even quicker this time. Our goal’s to show up and win.”
Everingham’s Streamline Race Products-supported effort has shown considerable improvement this season, having already logged a Sunset Speedway feature triumph in addition to an impressive performance at Sauble’s recent ‘Battle at the Beach’ invitational during the August long weekend.
“We know that our team’s job is to get better every week,” insists the third-generation racer. “We’ve been doing that at Sunset all season but going out on the road is another way of making that happen.”
“We need as many laps as we can get,” continues Everingham. “We need seat time. We need exposure to different track conditions and different layouts. We’re not going to get any of that sitting at my kitchen table on Saturday night.”
And, if you thought that rolling into relatively unfamiliar territory to stand toe-to-toe with one of the most talented weekly rosters in the province would be an intimidation, Everingham would have you think again.
“I know that I’m a handful for anyone no matter what speedway we’re at,” says Everingham. “I’m better now than I was a month ago. I was better last month than I was last season. It’s just constant improvement for us.”
“We’re hungry and we’ve been putting in the hours,” adds the 1-time feature winner. “Now we’re ready to go out and grab our first win on the road.”
