ORILLA, ON – Longtime Super Stock regular Robbie Sikes will move to the Limited Late Model division in 2019, thanks to a renewed partnership with lauded Car Owner and Sponsor Eldon Wallis.

The former Barrie Speedway feature winner will compete as a teammate to 2018 Great Lakes Concrete Ltd. Late Model Series champion Rick Walt, as Wallis continues to expand his burgeoning program.

“It means the world to be given the opportunity to come on board with Eldon (Wallis) and Rick (Walt) for next season,” says Sikes. “They both helped me so much (in 2018) with my Super Stock deal. Our results weren’t anywhere close to what I know we’re capable of, but the whole experience made us better as a team.”

When the 2018 season came to a close, Sikes was in the midst of deciding his next move and was approached by Wallis with the idea of joining Walt as a teammate for what could be a full time transition into the Limited Late Model division.

“When an owner like Eldon – with the type of equipment he has – gives you the chance to pair up with a guy like Ricky, it’s an offer you just can’t refuse,” smiles Sikes.

“I mean, there are a lot of guys in the pit area that would give their arm to be aligned with a team like this. I’m grateful, man. I can’t wait to see how far we can take this.”

Sikes and Wallis have yet to finalize their complete 2019 schedule, but are expected to field an entry at Sunset Speedway fulltime, with Sikes chasing the Limited Late Model Rookie of the Year honours.

“It’s hard to plan out a complete schedule when you really aren’t sure how many Limited Late Model shows there are actually going to be (in Ontario),” details the second-generation driver. “Right now we’re planning to do as close to a full Sunset schedule as we can. Then, we’ll take a look at what type of Invitational events are out there for us to consider.”

“As long as we’re keeping the car in one piece from one week to the next I’ll be a happy guy,” continues Sikes. “The goal is to make improvements every time we hit the race track. Having the chance to jump into a multi-time championship winning car is a dream come true – and I’m ready to do whatever I can to bring back a few more trophies to the shop.”
