OTTERVILLE, ON – The most recent off-season has been the busiest of Rick Verberne’s career as he readies his family-owned race team for its second attempt at a full Delaware Speedway Super Stock campaign.
The former Delaware Speedway Truck champion has welcomed Spark Power as a primary sponsor for his 2019 efforts with hopes of chasing down a first Super Stock title with new Crew Chief Brian Thomas.
“From the time the (2018) season ended our team has been working nonstop to make sure we’re even better prepared for 2019,” explains Verberne. “I was proud of what we accomplished in our rookie season, but at the same time I knew how much farther we could push ourselves.”
“Brian has been around this sport for 40-years and brings a level of experience that’s virtually incomparable,” continues the division sophomore. “I’m really looking forward to hitting the ground running with him. He wants to win every bit as much as we do, which is the perfect culture for us to bring to the track every Friday.”
Verberne finished 6th in Delaware’s 2018 Super Stock championship points standings – highlighted by a pair of feature victories – which provided a tremendous baseline from which to work entering the 2019 season.
“I can’t say enough about the package that Dave Wight (of Wight Motorsports Inc.) has put together for us so far,” raves Verberne. “His knowledge of Chassis technology is nothing short of incredible and he’s been amazing to deal with right from the start.”
“He’s even more committed to our team this season – which is amazing news for us – and we’re all looking forward to the start of testing in a few weeks. We’ve already invested tons of hours into fine-tuning this chassis and we’re going to keep pushing and keep working until we get all that we can out of our equipment.”
As a means of connecting even better with his growing fan base, Verberne will post a number of Facebook Live sessions – presented by Spark Power – to his official Rick Verberne Racing page on Facebook throughout the Delaware Speedway season.
“We’re excited to do all that we can to grow our brand and expand our weekly fan base,” says Verberne. “Richard Jackson and his entire marketing team at Spark Power have been incredible through the off-season and have given us a ton of ideas to explore this Summer.”
“This is going to be a huge season for our team. Our marketing partners are ‘all in’ with us and we’re completely committed to winning some races and contending for a championship.”
