Re-Tooled Amanda Balson Ready for Peterborough Speedway Season

Amanda Balson 2017
AURORA, ON – Longtime Ltd. Late Model veteran Amanda Balson will have a restocked team at her disposal when she unloads at Peterborough Speedway in 2017.

After acquiring a freshly updated McColl Racing Enterprises chassis over the off-season, Balson will be more than ready to tackle Peterborough’s criminally underrated headline division.

“It’s impossible not to be excited about what our team has put together over the winter,” beams the former Peterborough Speedway champion when asked of her AJK Racing team’s efforts. “We’ve got a new car and we’ve been working for months to make sure it will be ready to go as soon as the season starts”

Balson will return with longtime Crew Chief Graham Flett and lauded Car Chief Graham Annis for an air of familiarity in addition to her newly acquired chassis.

“Our program has been top shelf all along – but a newer, lighter car gives us the boost we’ve been looking for,” explains Balson. “The Grahams are incredible at what they do. I have all the respect in the world for what they’ve been able to do for us these past few seasons – but I cannot wait to see what they have up their sleeves this season”

“They’ve been working for weeks on end to develop a setup for our new car,” adds Balson. “I know that when we unload for the first time this season we’ll be ready to contend”

With the competition increasing at Peterborough on a seemingly weekly basis, Balson knows her team won’t have the luxury of taking any half measures if they intend on running at the front of the field.

“I think Peterborough is still the most underrated roster in Ontario,” says the Aurora, ON resident. “There aren’t any easy nights there. These teams are getting better every week. It most definitely pushes you to be at the top of your game with every start”

“Our whole team is excited to hit the track and start winning races. Competing on a part-time basis means we’ll have to be as close to perfect as possible every time we unload. Beating the guys at Peterborough means a lot to us and we’re ready to put in the hours to get back to victory lane.”
