ORCHARD PARK, NY – Following an impressive victory in the inaugural Great Canadian 100 at Jukasa Motor Speedway last season, ROC Modified Tour standout Patrick Emerling is understandably excited to make his return to the Hagersville, ON oval for the second installment of the event this Saturday.
“Winning at Jukasa was some of the most fun our team had all year so we’re absolutely excited to come back and try to do it again,” smiles the New York native. “The track itself lends itself perfectly to these cars. It’s big, it’s fast and it gives you a lot of room to move. We can really open these cars up there.”
Emerling has had a hot start to the 2019 campaign, collecting a win (Spencer Speedway) and a runner-up finish (Lancaster Speedway) in his first two tour events of the season.
“We’re riding high right now,” says the 2016 tour champion. “These guys work so hard on our stuff and all of that dedication is paying off in a huge way right now. Our last two races have been a huge confidence builder and it just makes us want to work even harder coming into Jukasa.”
Though he’s hopeful to stretch this hot streak all the way through the remaining 7 rounds of the 2019 season, Emerling knows that the talented ROC Modified Tour roster will continue pushing him to work harder.
“Of course I’m happy with the way things have started off but a couple good nights really doesn’t promise you much on this tour,” explains Emerling – a winner of 15 career ROC Modified Tour victories. “Everyone on this roster is working like crazy to make their stuff better. If you get complacent, you’re a sitting duck.”
“You’re only as good as your last performance. I want to make sure we can keep running up front and so does every other guy that lays hands on this car.”
