Kevin Bridge Will Return to Mini Stock Division Starting Opening Night at Sunset Speedway

KINCARDINE, ON – After floating the idea of stepping back from Mini Stock racing at the conclusion of the 2018 season, multi-time Sauble Speedway champion Kevin Bridge has announced a return to action on a reduced level in 2019.

The Kincardine, ON racer has yet to finalize a complete schedule, Bridge is likely to spend the bulk of his abbreviated 2019 campaign at Sunset Speedway.

“We decided that we weren’t quite ready to be all-the-way done yet,” said Bridge in reference to his family-operated team. “There’s no chance that you’ll see us racing 20-something times in a year like we have in the past, but we’re excited to be as active as we can this Summer.”

“Sunset has a good (Mini Stock) division right now and I’m looking forward to being a part of it. We’ll start with Opening Night and the Spring Velocity and go from there. We aren’t really committed to much more than winning some races and having fun this season.”

The longtime Sauble standout hopes to hit the ground running at Sunset, setting the tone for what he hopes will result in a number of successful outings.

“The beginning of the year is always my favourite time – because it shows you who’s dedicated to their craft and who isn’t,” explains Bridge. “You can stand at the fence on Opening Night and know exactly who’s been working on their stuff and who just pulled the tarp off of their car the week before and loaded it on the trailer.”

“We’re working nonstop – just like we have been all Winter – to make sure that our two cars can contend anywhere at anytime,” continues the likeable veteran. “We aren’t coming to the track just to collect a pit pass and drink beer. We want to win. That’s why we’re there.”

Kevin Bridge’s 2019 return is sponsored by LiUNA, Castrol, Spira Fire Protection, UPI, Coldwell Banker of Kincardine, Gilcrest Speed & Custom, Huronview Insurance and Daniel Kelly Custom Cabinetry.
