SMITHVILLE, ON – Although his season ended on a high-note – with a 2nd place finish in the Ontario Outlaw Super Late Model Series championship points standings – there’s no question that John Cadman Jr.’s 2018 campaign was very much a labour of love.

The second-generation competitor worked his way through a myriad of chassis issues and mechanical woes this Summer, eking out his second place finish in the year-end standings through sheer will and dedication.

“I can’t say that our year played out exactly the way I had planned – but I couldn’t be more proud of how our team worked it’s way through the season,” says Cadman. “This is a humbling sport. It always has been. Anytime you think that you have things figured out, there’s always a chance of something going wrong and sending you right back to square one.”

Cadman traversed the province following the first-year tour and credits champion Glenn Watson for testing his Bristol Motors RV-backed operation week-in and week-out.

“Whenever you have a chance to race against a guy like Glenn – with a team as strong as his – it’s only going to sharpen your blades,” explains the well-spoken veteran.

“The level of skill that he approaches things with is one of those things that never ceases to amaze me. He’s a true professional. He doesn’t let you off the hook for one minute. I can say with complete sincerity that going up and down the roads battling with him made our team better this year.”

Looking ahead to the 2019 campaign, Cadman hopes to continue supporting the fledgling Ontario Outlaw Super Late Model Series at speedways across the province.

“I’m grateful for each one of the promoters that took a chance on this tour this season,” says Cadman. “Guys like Alex Nagy, Mark Dilley, JP Josiasse, Brian Todish and John Casale and their staff are what we need to keep Super Late Model racing alive in this province. As long as they’re willing to keep it going, our team will be standing right with them to support their shows.”

John Cadman Jr. would like to thank Stuart Galloway and the Canadian Concrete Expo, Pro Battery Shops, Bristol Motors RV, Cabral racing Promotions and AP Racing Engines for their support throughout the 2018 season.

In addition, Cadman would like to credit Robert Blount, Junior Hanley, Shane Gowan, Kelly Hallett, Mike Gray, Glen Grady and Glen Blaker for their unwavering commitment and untold hours of work to keep the No. 71 on track all season long.
