KINGSTON, ON – DIRTcar standout Jessica Power is ready for one of her busiest campaigns to date – as she sets out to further establish herself as one of the most exciting stars in Sportsman competition.
Power has parlayed continuous improvement into her status as a regular threat for podium finishes at speedways across Ontario and upstate New York – a feat she hopes to continue into 2019.
“It’s impossible not to be proud of our program and how far we’ve come with it,” smiles Power. “We’ve takes some pretty big steps these last few seasons and I believe with everything in me that we’re in a good place right now and we’re ready to put together some strong performances this season.”
Power’s family-operated program will compete fulltime at Can-Am Speedway in La Fargeville, NY and Fulton Speedway in Fulton, NY in addition to appearances at Weedsport Speedway for their semi-regular 602 Sportsman events.
“One thing that’s helped us get a handle on our program – and has helped me understand what I need out of a racecar – is racing at as many different tracks as often as possible,” explains Power. “We’re fortunate to have a group of sponsors that support us and want to see us race as much as we can and that’ll help us chase championships at Can-Am (Speedway) and Fulton (Speedway) which is really exciting.”
The Queens University staffer will also run the entirety of the DIRTcar Sportsman Tour and will compete sporadically at Cornwall Motor Speedway so long as the team’s budget will allow it.
And, while Power is still months away from turning her first laps in race trim, the team is working feverishly to be ready for their annual appearance at the Frontenac Mall Car Show in Kingston on March 29th and 30th.
Jessica Power’s 2019 campaign will be made possible thanks to the support of Speedy Auto Service, Action Car & Truck Accessories, All Star Contractors, Bicknell Racing Products, Bert Transmissions, Lafrance Performance, Henry’s Exhaust, Intergrow Greenhouses, Mobil One and Bellinger Electric.
