OAKWOOD, ON – Jamie Richardson will return to the Ontario Outlaw Super Late Model Series tour in 2019 for his third full season in an Outlaw-bodied Late Model.
The racer has solidified a brand new relationship with veteran car owner Bill Passer to follow the entirety of the tour’s six-race schedule.
“I’m grateful for the chance to continue learning behind the wheel of these cars,” Richardson said. “I’ve been scrambling all off-season to put a deal together that would allow me to be back in a Super Late Model on a regular basis in 2019. It was touch-and-go for a couple months before we found a way to make this partnership with Bill (Passer) work”
Richardson’s 2019 entry will carry primary sponsorship from Local 793 of the International Union of Operating Engineers, which will celebrate its landmark 100th anniversary, as he chases down what he hopes will be a breakthrough season.
“I don’t think I’m anywhere close to hitting my potential just yet,” admits the humble up-and-comer. “My first two seasons on tour has been a bit of a roller-coaster to find consistency- but every moment has given me a lesson that I can take with me to the next race.”
“The best advice I’ve ever been given about this sport is that it’s all about learning how to balance the highs and the lows,” continues Richardson. “Because, if you can’t do that, you aren’t going to last very long.”
“My goal is to have more high-points than low-points this season. But, no matter what happens, I’m going to be smiling. Because I have great support, a great team and I’m living a dream that most people don’t ever get.”
Looking ahead to the 2019 schedule, it’s clear that Richardson is more than grateful for how far he’s come but is even more excited for where he feels he’s headed.
“I’m just blown away that I have the chance to be in great equipment for an accomplished team,” reflects the Oakwood, ON racer. “The rest of this off-season is going to be about getting into shape – both mentally and physically – so I can show up for that first event and get absolutely everything out of myself and my car.”
“We aren’t leaving anything on the table this season,” adds Richardson. “The plan is to leave everything on the track and to come back with a year that we can be proud of.”
Additional sponsorship for Jamie Richardson’s Ontario Outlaw Super Late Model Series season is provided by JJ McGuire, Cory Gerrits Excavating, LEEP Fence & Deck Ltd. and Ontario Street Signs.
