Jake Zevenbergen Relishes Opportunity to Showcase Skill Set Once More in 2019

SHALLOW LAKE, ON – After registering 8 feature wins in 2017 and 2018 combined, Sauble Speedway Super Stock regular Jake Zevenbergen has made an excellent case that he is ready to be one of the future faces of the division.

“We’ve had one of the fastest cars at Sauble the last two seasons and I can’t even explain how proud I am of that,” says Zevenbergen. “Our team is getting better every season. Our equipment is good and I really believe that I have a better understanding of how to get the most out of my racecar than ever before.”

While Zevenbergen has missed his first career championship by a hair’s breadth in his last two attempts, he insists that his shortcomings have done little to dissuade him.

“No matter how many times I come up short I’m just going to keep coming back even more motivated,” Explained the up-and-comer.” If I’m at the speedway it’s because I’m there to win. If we’re chasing points it’s because we want to be champions – nothing less.”

“We are one of the underdog teams that can and are motivated, and will continue to pick-up feature wins with our hard work and positive attitudes.”

“Things just haven’t gone our way when we needed them to these last couple seasons,” continues Zevenbergen. “It is what it is, man. That’s racing. That’s the entire game. It wouldn’t be half as fun if things just went your way every single time you left the shop. We’re hungry as hell for success and we’re ready to keep getting after it.”

And, while Zevenbergen has drawn high praise from fans and his fellow competitors as a driver worthy of future attention, he wastes little time in directing credit to his volunteer crew that have helped propel him to become a weekly threat to win.

“I’m nothing without every single person that gives up their time and effort to work on this car,” insists Jake the snake. “Once the season starts, it’s Monday night “Bench Racing” in the shop to keep your car in the shape it needs to be in to contend. So, if you don’t have the man-hours, it makes it almost impossible.”

“I could never thank my friends, family and sponsors enough. That’s why I want to bring them a championship so badly. We’re putting in championship-level effort and we’re committed to this program the way every championship team before us has been – we just need everything to fall into place this season.”
