MOUNT HOPE, ON – After making select Pro Late Model appearances with the APC United Late Model Series in 2017, rising star Hudson Nagy has announced his family-run outfit has plans to follow the entire 9-race schedule in 2018.
“Last season was dedicated to making laps and trying to get as comfortable as possible with the car,” explains Nagy. “This year we’re really excited to do the full tour and see how much farther we can push ourselves.”
“The APC Series is the best racing in Ontario right now and we know that jumping out on tour with them is the kind of experience that we can’t get anywhere else,” adds the third-generation racer. “It’s the best decision for us right now.”
Nagy impressed while running fulltime in Flamboro Speedway’s weekly Pro Late Model division, tallying a trio of podium finishes to close out the season. In addition, the former Mini Stock and Super Stock regular made 4 APC Series starts, with a best finish of 17th.
“It was a huge step to jump in a Pro Late [Model] for my first season,” admits Nagy. “Everything took time to adjust to. There’s a lot more power. There are a lot more brakes. Things happen on track a lot quicker. It’s just a way different experience.”
“I was proud of how far we had come by the end of the season – and I’m positive that it’s just the start of what we can do with our program.”
While Nagy may not have the same Pro Late Model experience as the rest of the APC United Late Model Series roster, there’s no questioning his dedication to his craft and his belief in his family-run team’s ability to compete with the best that Ontario has to offer.
“I just want to make sure that we pick up where we left off and keep improving,” outlines Nagy. “If we could get a win on the tour it would mean more to us than anything in the world.”
“We’ve definitely got our work cut out for us – but we’re not going to stop working until we can call ourselves one of the top teams on the roster.”
