BARRIE, ON – One of Ontario’s most successful Super Late Model racers of the modern era will be back full time in 2019, as Glenn Watson has confirmed his Race2Way.ca-sponsored program will follow the entirety of the Ontario Outlaw Super Late Model Series tour this coming summer.
“After all of the hard work that our team has invested in this program I can sincerely say that there is no other style of car I’d rather race,” says Watson. “We’ll be back with the same car and the same crew and hoping to do everything we can to bring some new hardware back to the shop.”
Watson originally rose to prominence in weekly competition at Barrie Speedway throughout the 1990s before eventually transitioning to the Super Late Model division.
During his time spent within the Outlaw-bodied Super Late Model ranks, Watson’s numerous event victories and championships have helped his team to establish themselves as the defacto ‘high water mark’ for other racers hoping to make their mark on the division.
“Proud doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about where our team is now,” says the Barrie, ON veteran. “I’m not sure we could have ever imagined doing as well as we have when we put our first Super Late Model together.”
“It’s been a great ride for us and I’d like to believe we still have a lot more left in the tank,” continues Watson. “I really believe that Super Late Models are going to be around Ontario for a long time and our team will be here to support the division for as long as we can.”
On the heels of the Ontario Outlaw Super Late Model Series announcing The Great Canadian Concrete Expo as the title sponsor for their 2019 campaign, Watson is confident that the tour will be a ‘can’t miss’ for fans across the province.
“The tour is headed in a good direction right now and we have an excellent roster of teams that are committed to making sure we put on the quality of shows that fans have come to expect from us,” notes the multi-time winner.
“We’re all counting down the days until Opening Night. I think the fans are going to be happy with what the series has on deck for them this season.”
