HAMILTON, ON – There’s no question that Flamboro Speedway Thunder Car up-and-comer Jaeger McMaster has complete faith in his family-run operation’s chances of making an impression in weekly competition this season.
Coming off of an abbreviated 2017 campaign that was wrought with promise, McMaster has committed to the full 2018 Flamboro Speedway season.
“I really believe that the sky is the limit for our team this year,” insists the second-generation racer. “We’ve got an amazing team and the best equipment I could ask for. We can be as good as we want to be. If we’re ready to put in the hours – we’re going to win a lot of races this season.”
And, after a long off-season spent upgrading their program in nearly every conceivable way, McMaster is ready to hit the ground running when Flamboro opens up its season on May 5th.
“Absolutely we’re hoping to set the tone right from our first night off the trailer,” insists the Hamilton, ON racer. “We’re hungry, man. I promise you that this team wants it more than any other on that roster. We’re going to show that every single week.”
“It all starts [May 5th],” adds McMaster. “If you want that momentum, then you need to be good right from the start. Opening Night is so much more important than a regular Saturday for that reason. It’s going to be all about patience and attention to detail. We’re ready for it.”
With Flamboro’s Thunder Car talent pool deepening each year, McMaster is eager to find a place for himself as a driver to keep an eye on.
“I hold myself to a pretty high standard,” says the teenager. “I want to stand out from the rest of the crowd. There are a lot of really talented guys on this roster. There are a lot of teams that have been doing this for years and years. I want to do everything that I can to set myself aside from everyone else.”
“We’re going to be there every single night with our absolute best stuff,” continues McMaster. “We’re going to be prepared. We’re going to be focused. I’m not taking a lap off all year. I want this to be my breakout season – and I’m willing to do whatever I have to do to make that happen.”
