MOUNT FOREST, ON – OSCAAR Hot Rod Series sophomore Douglas Fischer is ready to make an impact statement in his second career Jukasa Motor Speedway appearance this Saturday.
The former Sauble Speedway regular impressed with a last-to-4th performance in his Jukasa debut last June and is eager to improve upon that performance in his return.
“There’s something about the big events that bring out the best in our team – we love them,” says Fischer. “Jukasa is the Crown Jewel. No question. It’s a huge race because everybody wants to win there – and we’re no different. We’ll be coming with our best stuff.”
Fischer’s Streamline Race Products-backed outfit managed to gain steam throughout the 2018 season and the Mount Forest, ON native hopes to once again find that momentum for his sophomore year on tour.
“This team made some huge gains last season and I’m positive that we’re ready to pick right up where we left off. We learned how to dig deep and find a way to rise to the occasion (in 2018) and it absolutely made us better as a unit.”
“We’re armed with so much more knowledge now than we had at this time last year,” continues Fischer. “I’m excited that Jukasa is the season opener because I believe that we have the right package to contend there and really set the tone for the rest of our 2019.”
After an off-season spent fine-tuning and improving his familiar ‘Nasty Nova’, Fischer is ready to catapult his team into the upper-echelon of the increasingly talented Hot Rod Series roster.
“I want to be one of the guys that people point at as a threat to win every single week no matter where we’re racing,” explains the journeyman. “Streamline Race Products has put a lot of love into this car over the Winter.”
“This is the best this piece has ever been. We’re prepared and we’re motivated. This is the year that we’re ready to come out and show the tour that we’re ready to be stars on this tour.”
