INNISFIL, ON – Sunset Speedway’s NASCAR Super Stock division will play host to double feature events this Saturday, July 29th. With a full field of some of Ontario’s best expected to be in attendance, up-and-comer Coltin Everingham is ready for a head-turning outing that he hopes will further establish himself as one of Sunset’s ‘can’t miss’ prospects.
‘’We want to come out and stand on the podium twice this Saturday,’’ says Everingham with confidence when asked of his team’s hopes for Saturday night. “I don’t have any problem setting that as our high-water mark”.
“We have big goals for this team every single time we race because we know how good our car is. We’re strong enough to run up front all night – and that’s what we’re gunning for”.
Everingham debuted a brand new Streamline Race Products chassis at the beginning of the 2017 campaign and has worked each Saturday to showcase a new version of himself in his fifth full-season of competition at the speedway.
‘’We’ve been all-in every single week this year,’’ insists the third-generation racer. “We haven’t been chasing points at all this season. There’s no game of inches for us. Every single time this car comes off the trailer, we’re playing to win”.
“We want to win features. We want to podium. That’s it. We’ve been swinging for the fences since we showed up in May and it’s going to be no different on Saturday”.
Having added his first career Sunset feature victory to his resume earlier this season, Everingham feels as though his team has begun to turn the corner from participants to contenders.
‘’These guys all know we’re here now – no one can argue that,’’ says Everingham. “It’s a great feeling, because I think we were an afterthought in this division for way too long”.
“These days, when we hit the track for practice, there are guys up at the fence watching to see what our car is doing,” continues the Alcona Beach, ON product. “And they’re right to do so, because we’re a threat to win every week. On Saturday we’re going to give them something more to watch and talk about”.
