ALCONA, ON – Super Stock standout Coltin Everingham will enter this weekend’s Sunset Speedway’s regular Saturday night program, plus Sunday’s Great Lakes Concrete series round two at Sauble Speedway on Sunday. With the heavy task of having to fend off some of the province’s best super stock competitors on back to back nights, the number 48 machine will be “Streamline” ready to rock and roll.
“When you have this kind of pressure – it’s a privilege more than a burden,” says Everingham. “From the first night we ever spent in a shop working on this racecar we’ve been wanting to push it to it’s limits. I’m excited to get this weekend started against the best guys the division has to offer.”
In many ways, Coltin is a throwback racer like his dad, A racer that has come up the hard way, electing to invest hard work and research into his program. And, while there’s no question his methods have taken time to prove dividends, Everingham wouldn’t have it any other way.
“We’re a very close team with a group of very hard working friends and family ,that’s what my pit crew is constructed from, notes the Alcona, ON native. “That’s just the way we were brought up. Racing is one of those deals in life where you get what you put in.”
“I mean – yah – you could just write a cheque and have someone else do all the work for you. But, I can’t imagine the payoff would feel nearly as good if it weren’t your blood, sweat and tears that made it happen.” Some nights we wish that would be the case, but it’s just not in our budget.”
One of the most liked and grounded racers in any pit area, Everingham is always asking questions to improve his on track performance entering this weekend will be know different.
“I don’t ever like to get too far ahead of myself, but I really do like the package that we’re bringing to Sunset & Sauble this weekend,” offers the multi-time winner with a grin “We had a fantastic car all last season and we’ve just made some minor changes over the off-season to make it even stronger.”
“This division gets better every single week – so we have to get better too,” continues Coltin. “It’s an exciting time to be in this division and it’s even more exciting to be in the conversation’s as one of the top prospects. I’m grateful for this every single day and I’m more then ready for what’s coming my way this weekend.”
