SAUBLE BEACH, ON – Up-and-comer Cole Burrows took full advantage of Sunday’s ‘Battle at the Beach’ invitational, logging an impressive 5th place finish in front of a near sellout capacity crowd.
“Tonight was important for us because it was an awesome chance to be in front of a big crowd,” smiled Burrows post-race. “There were a lot of people here for this show that don’t get to see us race very often. I was happy we could take advantage of that and give them a great show.”
The son of former Mini Stock standout Dave Burrows, Cole has worked diligently throughout his first two seasons of competition to earn a name for himself as a driver to keep an eye on as he continues to climb the short track ladder.
“There aren’t a lot of places that run these cars – so it’s hard for us to get in front of different people,” said the fourth-generation racer. “It was really exciting to race in front of people that might not have ever seen us before.”
Following his top-5 tonight, Burrows will look to finish out the final month of his sophomore season on a high note.
“We’re all learning every single week,” said Burrows. “Every time I race I’m better than I was the time before. This is some of the most fun I’ve ever had. I just want to keep doing it and keep getting better at it.”
