Brandon Passer Making His Mark in Super Stock Division

Brandon PasserALCONA, ON – While third-generation product Brandon Passer is now one of the most talked-about racers in the province, he’s only recently started adjusting to his newfound status as one of Sunset Speedway’s rising Super Stock stars.

Passer entered his third full season in the Super Stock division surrounded by question marks. Insiders and fellow competitors wondered aloud if his team of family and volunteers could come together to best the perennial heavy hitters dotting Sunset’s roster.

“I think we came into this season with people not really knowing what to expect from us,” says Passer. “That didn’t bother me at all. I really don’t need people I don’t know blowing smoke at me and telling me how good I am. It’s less pressure this way. We have our team of guys and we all believe in what we’re doing – and that’s really all we need.”

By the time the dust had settled, Passer finished among the elite in Sunset’s Super Stock championship points standings and exited the season as the winningest driver on the roster with his four feature triumphs.

“We worked real hard to find a (setup) program that could fit what we were looking to do with this car,” admits Passer. “Any time you come out with a car you’ve never raced before – no matter who you are – you’re going to have a longer road in front of you because it’s a lot of trial and error to find what works and what doesn’t.”

“We made more than our fair share of mistakes this season but we learned from every one of them,” adds the Alcona, ON native. “I don’t mind slipping up as long as we don’t make the same mistake twice. Once we hit the midway point of the season we really came to life. We were real good down the stretch late in the year.”

Now, with nothing but momentum on his side, Passer and team are committed to working through the offseason to ensure their 2019 campaign is their best ever.

“We’re going to be a problem for anyone and everyone in this division next Summer – I can promise you that,” Summitted Passer. “Our hearts are in it. Every person that’s a part of this team. We all want to win. And, we’re all ready to put in as many hours as it takes to be the best team on the roster.”
