Brandon Passer Eager to Add Frostoberfest Triumph to Rapidly Expanding Resume

Brandon Passer 2017

LEFROY, ON – Impressive sophomore Brandon Passer is set to take aim at Flamboro Speedway’s Frostoberfest this weekend. The Sunset Speedway Super Stock regular hopes to clinch his first ever Flamboro win – just over a month after registering a hallmark invitational victory at Sauble Speedway.

‘’Anytime we can step outside of our comfort zone and pad our notebook a little it’s always a good thing,’’ offers the well-spoken sophomore.

‘’I want to get this program to the point where we can compete and contend anywhere in the province. And that’s never going to happen if we stay in our backyard and only race Sunset [Speedway]. Our goal as a team is to be as versatile as possible”

Passer has spent much of the 2017 season branching out from his familiar Sunset Speedway confines and has noticed a remarkable difference in both competition and overall experience from that of a traditional weekly event.

“The more we run these bigger shows, the more I understand how much different the atmosphere really is compared to a regular Saturday night event,” explains the third-generation racer.

“Every guy out there just finds another level of intensity. Everybody wants to win races like the [Sunset Speedway] Velocity or Frostoberfest. These events mean something. We want to add our name to them for sure”

This weekend’s two-day event will mark Passer’s first attempt at a Frostoberfest win. And, while the sophomore is more than willing to disclose an uncertainty on how to plan for the twin 30-lap features, he hopes to rely on the experience compiled during his Sauble win earlier this season to help guide him through.

“I’m not entirely sure what to expect this weekend,” admits Passer. “Flamboro’s always had a reputation of a place that’s hard to win at and even harder to leave without damage. So, we’re definitely going to have to be careful”

“It’s configuration isn’t much different than Sauble – and we had an amazing run there,” continues the Lefroy, ON racer. “We’re just going to do all that we can to get a handle on things early. If we can do that, and then make the right decisions, I know that we have a package that can contend with these guys once they call the features on Sunday.”
