Super Late Model veteran Roy Passer will be back with the OSCAAR Tour this weekend for the first time in almost a month, when the tour returns to Flamboro Speedway for Round 2 of its 2016 schedule. Passer was impressive in his first OSCAAR start of the season, earning a runner-up finish at Flamboro on May 21st behind his teammate – and future son-in-law JR Fitzpatrick. Passer’s ‘flat track’ setup appears ready to work, and if he can happen to find some daylight underneath the No. 84 on Saturday, expect him to make a move for the front of the field that could very well pay dividends in the form of his first career OSCAAR-sanctioned victory.
Fresh off of his first Mini Stock win of the Peterborough Speedway season last Saturday, Donovan Price will be riding a wave of momentum when he unloads this weekend. The veteran competitor worked alongside his brother – current OSCAAR Modified Tour contender Dan Price – to put his No. 96 in winning condition, and will most certainly be one of the driver’s to contend with this Saturday. Peterborough’s Mini Stock roster is currently one of the best in the province, with consensus top-10 standouts James Townsend and Tyler Junkin each compiling victories already this season, and Price will be gunning to keep both of them in his rearview mirror this weekend for back-to-back triumphs.
Sunset Speedway MIGHTY Division competitor Lisa Deleeuw will look to take another step towards the top-5 in points on Friday night when Sunset hosts its inaugural ‘Prelude to Pinty’s’ event. The veteran has 3 top-10 finishes in her last 4 starts with the division, and will have her sights set on improving once more this weekend. With only 7 points separating 5th from 8th in MIGHTY division points at present, a big night for Deleeuw could have an immediate impacts on the standings.
