ROCKTON, ON – Following weeks of podium finishes and close calls, Flamboro Speedway championship hopeful Kevin Albers broke through for his first Pro Late Model win of 2018 on July 7th.

“We knew that if we just kept at this and kept working that we would win one of these races,” smiled Albers post-race. “We’ve had a lot of races that we’ve been excited about but this was the first real complete night that we’ve put together. That win was exactly what we needed to do tonight.”

For Albers, the breakout win is a potential gateway to a standout second-half of 2018 that could solidify the former Thunder Car champion as a certified contender for a first Pro Late Model title.

“These guys don’t make it easy on you for a minute – so if we want to run for a championship we absolutely have to keep winning,” offered the Rockton, ON native. “This division has so much talent. Anyone that can run up front here is going to be tough to beat on any given night – but racing with them absolutely makes you better as a competitor.”

‘Killer’ will be back in action on July 14th in search of a second straight win and an extension of his early-season hot streak.

“Tonight set us up real nice for the second half of the season,” said Albers. “This was a huge confidence boost for us. We race to win every single time we pull in the gate here – but it’s never a guarantee.”

“Every guy here works hard and every team has great equipment,” continued Albers. “So, it’s definitely a special feeling when you can figure out how to keep these guys behind you for a whole race. Now, we get to figure out a way to come out on Saturday and do it all over again.”
