OAKWOOD, ON – Taylor Motorsports representative Jamie Richardson will be back behind the wheel of a Super Late Model in 2018, eager to follow up on the OSCAAR Rookie of the Year title he earned last season with a run towards the upstart Ontario Super Late Model Series championship.
“I’m not sure anyone is out here working harder than us,” says Richardson with a grin. “We know that we’re up against some serious competition this season – and we’ve been preparing for it nonstop. We learned a ton last year but we know that we still have a long way to go.”
The former Mini Stock competitor made his Super Late Model debut for Car Owner Dave Taylor last Spring, and worked tirelessly to improve on a weekly basis as he followed the OSCAAR tour from track to track.
“It was a huge step,” Stats Richardson in regards to his move from Mini Stock to Super Late Model. “Dave [Taylor] has been an amazing mentor. I wouldn’t be anywhere without him and the help from the whole team. They took me from a totally green rookie to a guy that finished 4th in [OSCAAR Super Late Model Series] points. I can’t wait to get back to the track with him and see how much more we can accomplish.”
And, after introducing himself to the province’s rabid Super Late Model fanbase in 2017, Richardson is intent on fashioning his first career victory in 2018.
“We’re focused on bigger and better things this season,” explains the sophomore. “The competition is more intense than its been in a long time – but that just motivates us more. This new tour has brought the spotlight back to Super Late Model racing and it couldn’t be more deserved. If I have my way – this is going to be a breakout year for our team.”
