WATERDOWN, ON – Flamboro Speedway veteran Gary Elliott is primed for a full season of weekly Pro Late Model competition in 2017.

“I’m incredibly proud to call myself a member of the [Flamboro Speedway] roster these days,” smiles Elliott. “These are exciting times. I think Flamboro is right on the cusp of being one of the best speedways in the province again. We could be coming into a new golden age”

With a number of perennially competitive Saturday-night stars as well as a handful of APC Series regulars, Flamboro’s roster counts as one of the most deep and diverse in Ontario.

“We’re confident that we can compete with any of these teams when we’re at our very best,” says the former Canadian Vintage Modified champion.

“For me, it’s never been about winning so much as it’s been about participating in a way that can make my team proud. I don’t care where we finish at the end of the night. I just want to be a part of it”

When asked of the recent Pro Late Model renaissance, Elliott credits the division’s wall-to-wall parity for driving its success.

“A few years ago it felt like the Pro Late Model division was in a lot of trouble,” says the Waterdown, ON driver. “Nowadays it’s come back stronger than it’s been in a long time. Flamboro is at the point now where just about anyone can win on any given night”

“I think the Pro Late Models are the strongest division in Ontario,” adds Elliott. “Every week it seems there’s another driver throwing his name in the ring. It’s exciting to be a part of”

In addition to his team’s OSCAAR Modified Tour and weekly Flamboro Speedway obligations, ‘The Ironman’ will also enter a number of APC Series events – including the tour’s highly touted debut at Jakusa Motor Speedway in August.

“We’ve committed to the full schedule at Flamboro – and I feel really passionately about that,” says the veteran. “But we have a lot of travelling planned also. We’re real excited to do the [Jakusa] show and we’re hoping to add some more APC [Series] shows to our schedule before it’s all said and done. I’m excited for a busy summer.”
