SHELBURNE, ON – Dale Reinhart will look to move one more spot up the podium this Saturday as the OSCAAR Modified Tour rolls into Peterborough Speedway.
The Shelburne, ON product impressed in a top-3 finish during the tour’s most recent stop at Flamboro Speedway on July 28th and is eager to continue his recent run of strong performances.
“I don’t think we could get any closer to winning without actually having it happen,” says Reinhart – “We’ve been close. We’ve been real close. And I know that when we finally get one, the floodgates are going to open up. We have a great car and a great team and I know that we’re going to win a lot of races on this tour.”
Reinhart has found his footing within the Modified tour in recent months, and he credits his newfound confidence with aiding in the development of his family-owned program.
“We’ve been branching out more and trying some different setup combinations this year,” notes the third-year competitor. “I’m a lot more comfortable with this car now than I’ve ever been, which means I have a lot more confidence in my feel for the setup package and what we need to change on raceday to make our car better.”
While Reinhart is unquestionably pulling out all the stops to become a 2018 event winner, he insists his Reinhart Trailers-sponsored team has even bigger plans looking to the future.
“We’re in this for the long haul,” says the 23 year old. “I want us to build something that can contend for a long time. This isn’t just a ‘bucket list’ deal for us. We aren’t trying to win one race and then sell off our team.”
“I know that we can be champions one day,” continues the personable up-and-comer. “That’s what we’re working towards right now. We want to be race winners – no question – but moreso than that we want to be champions. That’s where I can see us heading.”
