MILTON, ON – Impressive Pro Late Model sophomore Chad Corcoran has confirmed his family-owned outfit will take aim at their first ever marquee division victory this weekend – as their Gallinger Ford-sponsored No. 50 has filed entry for the Grisdale Triple Crown portion of Flamboro Speedway’s Frostoberfest.
“The [Grisdale] Triple Crown [Series] is an event that any driver with a Pro Late [Model] wants to add to their resume,” says Corcoran.
“It stands out,” adds the rising star. “Because, it’s not just a single feature, it’s a test of your endurance and your consistency as a racer. You really can’t luck your way into winning this event – the guy on top at the end typically deserves to be there.”
Corcoran’s understand of the event’s history is extensive – as the son of former division standout Brad Corcoran is no stranger to the Triple Crown and the level of competition that has pursued it for almost two decades.
“The best-of-the-best in this division have been at war with each other to win the Triple Crown for as long as I’ve been going to Flamboro,” recounts the second-generation star with a smile.
“If I could add my name to that list of winners – it would be a bigger accomplishment than I could ever put into words. It’s a career win for anyone in that pit area. It would mean the world to my family and I.”
For the former Mini Stock standout, an impressive finish to his sophomore campaign has as much to do with his 2018 season as it does his 2017 season.
“We’ve had a great season with this car and our plan this weekend is to keep that going,” explains Corcoran. “We’ll definitely be up against some serious competition, but if we turn in a big performance we’ll be proud of ourselves. If we can finish our season strong – we’ll have all the momentum we need going into the Winter.”
